So today, as an Etsy seller, I attempted to add the Etsy Mini to my Blogger layout. And of course, there had to be a bit of a “cat and mouse” chase, before figuring it all out. But finally, I have my Etsy mini applied to my Blogger page, and I thought I would share the process with others. Hopefully, I can help those following my path, to have an easier experience in posting their own Etsy Mini.
As an Etsian:
First, sign in to your Etsy account.
Step 2: Click on the “Etsy Mini” link.
The link will appear on a number of your Etsy pages including, Your Etsy shop page (when entered from the “your shop” link at the top, and to the right. But NOT the little shop, icon image), “shop stats page”, “your bill” page.
Once you are at one of these Etsy pages, Etsy mini will appear under the “Promote” heading to the left of the page.
Step 3: Build your own Etsy Mini.
After you have clicked the Etsy Mini link, you should see a page titled “Build your own Etsy Mini.”
- Choose the items you would like to show on your Blogger site. You may choose from two options, either items from your own shop or, items from some of your favorites on Etsy.
Next,
- Choose the image size to appear on your Blogger. As far as I know, the Gallery size option will be too big to place on your blog. As you click on your “image size” choice, Etsy will display a preview for you, so you can see the sizing of either “gallery,” or “thumbnail.”
After you have chosen your “image size,”
- Choose a “layout” option. A good lay out option could be, 2 columns, and 4 rows, or 2 columns, and 5 rows may work just as well.
After you have chosen 1). Items to show 2). Image size 3). Layout, “paste this code” will appear, with the code to paste onto Blogger, in the box below.
Step 4: Copy the code.
You will need to copy the code, shown in the box below, “paste this code,” and then paste that code into your Blogger.
Now, move over to your Blogger.
Step 5: Paste the code from Etsy to your Blogger.
From your actual blog on Blogger:
- Click on “Design,” (to the top right).
- Click on “Layout,” (to the left).
- Click on “Add a gadget.”
Here, you will want to think about the layout of your Etsy mini, and how it will need to position itself onto your blogger. Due to its’ layout, your Etsy mini positions best, to the right, or left side of your blog. So, on this “layout” blue screen, page, you should click the “add a gadget” option that is positioned appropriately, to the right or left side.
After you click add a gadget, a separate box titled, “Add a Gadget” will pop up.
- From the box pop up, choose HTML/JavaScript, by clicking the plus sign next to it. This HTML/JavaScript option should be located under the “Basics” link, which should be the default link to appear when the pop up box first comes up.
- Paste your code.

- Paste your code.
After you have chosen HTML/JavaScript from the pop up box, you will be able to paste your code from Etsy, into the “content” area. You can also type in a title here, under the “Title” area, but when your Etsy mini appears on your blog, it should already have a title at the bottom, stating the “Etsy” name, and your store name, if you chose to display “items from your shop” option, instead of “items from your favorites.” If by chance, you chose the option, “items from your favorites,” I can’t tell you for sure, what will appear on the Etsy mini, once it posts to your blog.
Click “Save” once you have pasted the “Etsy” code into the “content” area, and entered a title if you have chosen one.
Your Etsy Mini should now be visible on your blog.
Good luck on Etsy, and with the success of your blog.
Cheers!
